Nikola Tsolov — Bulgarian F2 Driver, Red Bull Junior, Campos Racing
2026 F2 — Results & Highlights
The Montréal recovery from P16 to P4-on-the-road was a tyre-management masterclass that, in raw racing terms, should have protected 12 points and the championship lead. Instead, a post-race 10-second penalty for a track-limits infringement while defending against Goethe at Turns 13–14 wiped the result out — reclassified P12, zero points. The drive itself showed elite race-craft; the stewards' decision is what cost the points. Tsolov leaves Canada P3 in the championship, 22 points adrift of Minì.

All factor weights and inputs are hand-set per round based on public Red Bull pipeline signals.
Sofia to the front row
Born in Sofia on 21 December 2006, Nikola Tsolov is the most successful single-seater driver Bulgaria has ever produced — and at nineteen, he is only just getting started. A Fernando Alonso protégé who came up through FA Racing karting and the Alpine Academy, he switched to the Red Bull Junior Team in November 2024 and signed permanently with Campos Racing for his 2026 F2 debut.
Two Formula 4 (Spain) seasons, three FIA Formula 3 seasons, and the all-time F3 wins record (5) led to Melbourne in March 2026 — where he became the first Bulgarian to win an FIA Formula 2 race and made a piece of national sporting history. The full career story is below.
Full feature From karts to championship leader — the Nikola Tsolov story →Did you know? The top 3 isn't the only route. With 25 points banked, P4 (30 pts) or P5 (20 pts) in F2 already clears the 40-point bar. There's also an FP1 path: every F1 Friday practice outing completed adds 1 point, up to 10 — enough that even P6 in the championship could get him over the line with five FP1 sessions.

It would be a dream for both me and the country to be the first Bulgarian driver in F1 — this is my goal and I'm only getting closer every day.
He drove the Red Bull RB7 through Sofia
In June 2025, Tsolov drove Vettel's 2011 championship-winning RB7 down the streets of his hometown — the first time a Bulgarian driver had ever taken part in a Red Bull show run. He calls it a moment he'll "remember forever."
